Polar Peril

Here’s a pattern of mine for smallmouth tied on some old Mustad 79666 Keel hooks.  Those long discontinued irons are sorely missed. I wish Mustad, or some other enterprising hook maker, would re-introduce them. Though some worm hooks come close, they are generally far too big.

    I had a wonderful float trip down the Androscoggin river in Maine this month, for smallmouths. I took several nice fish on Polar Peril…
